This is the IC journal of a character from Hogwarts Express mush.
In a hospital in South London, a girl child was born one early morning to Yoshiko Okabe and Hugh Lavington. They lovingly named her Hisa Okabe Lavington, and hoped her presence would hold their marriage together. Their hope fell through, and she's done nothing but fail them ever since, or at least that's how she feels. They always had plans for her that she was unable to fulfill. She was to be a sweet, good child, became an excellent witch, and work at the ministry, fighting the good fight. She tried to live up to their standards, but eventually got tired of always failing, and gave up entirely.
One of the rare times she did satisfy her parents was at the age of 5, when, after being told repeatedly to eat her Brussels sprouts, they magically turned into ice cream of her plate. Although scolded for her rebellion, they were secretly pleased with her magical abilities.
When she was 10, Ivy met a boy named Antony Jean Pierce, from the mean streets of London. Tony had a draw that she couldn't resist, and they became fast friends, although their equally hot tempers clashed frequently. When Ivy started Hogwarts the following fall, Tony was entering his third year. Soon enough they were dating, to angry remarks and disappointment from her parents.
She liked her studies and excelled especially at potions and transfiguration. She passed her OWLs with excellent marks. Despite this, she dropped out of Hogwarts, changed her name to Ivy, got tattooed, and decided to live the rock and roll lifestyle. After a stand off with her folks, she spent more time with Tony, and less at home. She would be gone all day, spending her time on the London streets, getting more and more into the music scene. Coming home late, fights would erupt in the kitchen. A few times she was gone all night, leaving her parents more worried than angry, although they never showed it. Ivy would be grounded, which of course just made her more frustrated. As soon as she turned 17, she left the house, and moved into a flat with Tony.
Things were rough at first well, things stayed rough. Ivy and Tony became engaged, as she perhaps sought the stability her parents could never provide.
Ivy learned to play drums, for which she had a natural affinity. Tony played guitar, and with a mutual friend John Paul McEnroe on bass, they started their band Avada. Sebastian Binns, auror trainee, joined as lead singer. Not long after, Sebastian dropped out of auror training and moved in with the band as fulltime vocalist and lead guitar. When John left to raise a family, they recruited Alaric to play bass. Alaric and Ivy have never gotten along quite right, but they manage to play together.
After a nasty fight, involving a few blows, and some exploding tempers, Ivy broke off her engagement with Tony. The band continues to live together, although with daily tension between bandmates. Ivy is known to pick on all three of them for her own reasons, but in times of trouble, she's the first to stand up for them. The band has become her family, and it's the first one she's really loved.
